Fox News continues their unholy alliance with Alternative Facts

“Hell, people use food stamps to buy marijuana, that’s illegal, or cocaine, or whatever the hell else people use to get high. How do we make sure that we don’t take a system that is well-intentioned that becomes badly abused?” – Ken Langone, co-founder of Home Depot, and now a documented delusional lunatic

Maybe it’s because they have a fondness for orange (Langone for his company’s logo, Trump for his choice of facial spray tan) that they see things through the same filtered haze of Alternative Facts.

Here is the full soundbite:

Let’s set the record straight, shall we?

1. Marijuana is not illegal everywhere. Many states have medical marijuana dispensaries and a few permit adult recreational use.

2. In none of those states to dispensaries accept food stamps. They can’t. Food stamps are federal government-issue and the federal government won’t allow it. In fact, the dispensaries don’t even accept checks or credit cards because banks don’t want to run afoul of the federal government and have assets seized.

3. When was the last time a cocaine dealer accepted food stamps? Or a credit card? Or a check, for that matter? We’re going to go out on a limb here and say….Never!

Shame on Neil Cavuto for not calling him on it. But then this was on Faux News where facts are mere annoyances to be replaced with Alternatives that fit the Trumpian narrative.
